A book that appeared to be dedicated by Meghan Markle to Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank has been removed by the eBay seller just hours after fans spotted it for sale. It was not just any ordinary copy - it looked as though it may have been a gift from the Duchess of Sussex for the couple's son, August, who was born earlier that year. However, this has not been confirmed.
The message inside was shared in a picture on the popular selling website, and it read: "2021. Dear Eug & Jack, Celebrating the special bond between father and son. I wrote this poem at Frogmore - I hope that Eug, you witness the same love there with your guys. All love, Meghan."
Book listing ended by seller
Meghan Markle released the book in 2021, the same year she welcomed her daughter. Meghan wrote a loving story about the relationship between a father and son, as seen from a mother's perspective. It is believed the book was inspired by Meghan's own experience of watching her husband, Prince Harry, with their son, now seven-year-old Prince Archie.
The book was released in 2021, with copies being bought by many parents around the world. But, just hours after it was spotted on sale, with the listing showing that it was up for £19,999.99, it has now been mysteriously removed. Fans also suggest that it doesn't look like it has been sold, with the top of the listing now reading: "This listing was ended by the seller on Fri, 2 Oct at 1:48 PM because the item is no longer available."
Fans react on X
Fans have now taken to X to suggest that Meghan may be behind its removal, stating that she may not have been happy with the listing. One wrote: "Looks like Meghan Markle wasn't happy with this book up on Ebay [laughing-face emoji] It has now been removed WITHOUT being sold."
Another added: "Was that 20 thousand... for a book?" whilst another criticised the listing's price. They added: "I don't know who is crazy enough to think it would sell for more than 99 cents!"
It has not been confirmed whether the message and signature were written by Meghan or whether the book was received by Eugenie, as suggested by this listing and the photographs.
The word Frogmore refers to the cottage Harry and Meghan lived in after their wedding, and when they moved to the US in 2020, it is believed to have been inhabited by Jack and Eugenie, who have since welcomed two other children. It was listed as having a few scratches and marks, suggesting it had been well-read by its previous owner.
