Victoria Beckham reveals secret to David's 'perfect' Sunday roast

Victoria Beckham has revealed the secret to her husband David's 'perfect' Sunday roast: Bisto extra thick gravy. The mum-of-four, 52, and husband, 51, are known for their love of entertaining and often host their families at the weekends in one of their mega mansions.

The Beckhams may spend the majority of their time abroad now, flitting around the globe, as one of the world's most famous couples. However, they, like millions of other Brits, love to tuck into a traditional roast dinner on Sunday with all the trimmings, 'no matter where we are in the world'.

Victoria's role in the weekly feast

The artist formerly known as Posh Spice - who has just released her own homeware range - readily admits she's no cook. Claiming her strengths lie elsewhere, VB explains that she is more of a culinary creative director, responsible for decorating the table with designer candles as well as curating the 'perfect playlist'.

Opening up about the family's weekly feast, Victoria - who has eaten grilled white fish and vegetables every day for more than 30 years in a bid to maintain her fantastic figure - says David is very much in charge.

What's on the Beckhams' Sunday menu

Speaking to The Times about the roast and all its accoutrements, she said: "We're very traditional, actually, as a family. There's no need to ban phones because nobody seems to look at theirs — too busy talking. Wherever they are in the world, Sundays mean a roast dinner."

"Yorkshire puddings are a big crowd-pleaser, stuffing, lots of vegetables. No parsnips — it's one of the only foods my husband does not like and will not eat."

Now, we admit we thought that when it comes to gravy, David would surely be slaving over a hot stove reducing the drippings from his perfectly cooked meat with a bottle of Burgundy. However, Victoria says nothing could be further from the truth as she reveals the secret to the Beckhams' perfect roast is actually Bisto.

The secret ingredient and wine selection

Lifting the lid on the surprising addition, she reveals: "It has to be Bisto, extra thick."

David is also in charge of selecting the wine for the meal, with the fashion designer saying her hubby knows his wife's favourite is "red, French, burgundy" and that it must be served in the "correct" glass. Correct, by the way, means "big".

Victoria's revelations come after her estranged son, Brooklyn, narrowly missed his mum at Paris Fashion Week. The oldest child of the Beckhams, who made a blistering attack on his parents in January this year, revealed a bold tattoo about "feeling anxious while posting about a fitting for the Balenciaga show at PFW - where Victoria was also holding a show.
