Tom Holland's fourth Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day, has smashed box office records, and the actor is reportedly earning a hefty paycheck of $20 million to $25 million (£14.8m to £18.5m), including base salary and bonuses.
Record-Breaking Success
The film has grossed $1.05 billion (£900k) worldwide in just six days, beating Avengers: Endgame for the biggest opening weekend in US history. It also holds a 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, the highest in the franchise.
This success marks a significant leap from Holland's first solo Spider-Man movie in 2017, Homecoming, where he earned a modest $1.5 million (£1.1m) – now earning 20 times more.
Comparison with Predecessors
According to the Daily Mail, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire never earned as much, with the closest being Maguire's $17.5 million (£12.9m) for Spider-Man 2.
Holland's Busy Year
This has been a mammoth year for the 30-year-old British actor, starring in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey and the new Spider-Man alongside his now-wife Zendaya. During press tours, he has been candid, admitting on the Dish podcast that he has 'lied through his teeth' to promote terrible movies.
He also made history on Hot Ones by being the first guest to vomit on camera from the spicy wings, but he beamed throughout and celebrated the milestone.
