Susanna Reid made a surprise return to Good Morning Britain on Tuesday morning (August 18) while on holiday in Ibiza, where she was told that the show had been nominated for a National Television Award in the Daytime category.
Holiday Interrupted by Big News
The 55-year-old ITV presenter has been on her summer break from the show, trading the UK for the heat of Ibiza. Instead of presenting the day's headlines, she was enjoying a "day rave" on the island, which she has often described as her happy place.
During the broadcast, entertainment reporter Richard Arnold gathered hosts Ranvir Singh and Richard Madeley, along with weather presenter Laura Tobin and news presenter Jonathan Swain, before video-calling Susanna, as well as regular hosts Kate Garraway and Ed Balls.
Nomination Celebrated with O Beach Dancers
Richard then revealed that Good Morning Britain had been nominated for a National Television Award in the Daytime category. Susanna, wearing a bright pink shirt, tinted sunglasses, and festival wristbands, was visibly shocked by the news.
"Normally what happens in Ibiza stays in Ibiza but this morning I am on special duty for GMB," she said. "We are absolutely the best daytime. By the way, yesterday I was at one of the best daytime clubs in Ibiza − other daytime clubs are available − and I had a little heads up. They had the lovely women out doing the placards … I think you have a photograph."
Producers then showed a photo of the famous O Beach dancers holding placards reading 'Vote GMB', with Susanna in front of them in denim shorts and a black string top.
Fans Rally Behind GMB
After the broadcast, Susanna reshared the photo on Instagram, urging followers to vote for the show. "VOTE GMB! We are up for Best Daytime Programme at the incredible NTAs so I celebrated at one of Ibiza’s best daytime clubs," she wrote, tagging O Beach.
Fans quickly responded, with one commenting: "Absolutely voting GMB! Looking sensational Susanna!" Another added: "Hope you had a great day."
