Strictly Come Dancing contestant Will Best has revealed that he and professional partner Dianne Buswell are aiming to set a record with their jive on Saturday's live show. The Big Brother host also admitted his "brain is letting me down" as rehearsals intensify ahead of Icons Week.
Rehearsal Room Update
The 41-year-old and Dianne shared an Instagram story showing them sprawled on the floor with their feet elevated against the mirror, labelling it "touchy time". Will disclosed his current struggles, saying: "I think it's the brain that's letting me down this week."
Dianne promptly promised to bring almonds to their next training session. However, when asked whether the nut benefited the brain, she confessed: "I don't know."
Going for the Jive Record
The duo kept supporters informed as Dianne stated: "Listen, you all know we're doing the jive. We said it on the results show. There's a lot of steps in the jive."
Will then disclosed: "Yeah, and you're going for the record, aren't you? You're trying to put in the most steps ever in a jive - in a minute and a half." Dianne confirmed: "That's what I'm going for. But you're doing so good. There's a lot to remember."
Strategy for the Series
Will also revealed they had settled on their approach for the rest of the competition. He added: "We want to get to a place where the worst-case scenario is low scores but a lot of fun. That's also the best case scenario. We just want to make sure people are laughing with us, not at us. But let's see."
Supporters have been quick to show their backing for Will after his progress to another week. One fan commented on his latest Instagram post: "Your Waltz with Dianne gave me goosebumps and reminded me of the 'So Close' dance scene from the Disney film Enchanted. It really was magical." Another added: "You were sensational." A third responded: "You were absolutely brilliant! Blew everyone away! Still feeling rather smug about that £30 bet I put on you to win! No pressure, Will, but I've got money riding on those hips!"
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6.15pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
