Strictly star Shaun Wright-Phillips at risk of missing Icons Week

Shaun Wright-Phillips is the bookies' favourite to become the second celebrity eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing, according to Betway's latest odds. The former footballer has been given odds of 9/4 of leaving the competition, which would see him miss out on Icons Week next Saturday.

Betway odds place Shaun at risk

Close behind Shaun is Dame Sarah Storey with odds of 11/4, while Melanie Walters is in third place at 3/1. Jaime Winstone, who landed in the bottom two last weekend, is also at risk with odds of 5/1.

Last weekend, Amy Dowden and her dance partner Chris Appleton were eliminated from the BBC competition. The duo landed in the dance-off against Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu, but the judges decided to save Jaime, meaning Amy and Chris were sent home.

Lacey Turner leads the winner market

At the other end of the scale, Lacey Turner is the bookies' favourite to win. The EastEnders star has been given odds of 6/4 of lifting the Glitterball trophy, while John Nellis is hot on her heels with odds of 9/2. Dani Dyer is in third place with odds of 6/1, and pop star Delta Goodrem has odds of 13/2 of winning.

Lewis Knowles, Betway's spokesperson, said: "Dani Dyer was our favourite before the series started, with Lacey Turner only fourth in the market at 6/1, but she's very much caught the eye of the judges as well as fans of the show in the opening weeks."

"The EastEnders actress surged to the head of our betting at 5/2 after last week's opening show, but after another impressive performance on Saturday evening, she's now shortened further to 6/4 for this year's Glitterball Trophy."

Upcoming themed weeks revealed

Throughout the series, there will be plenty of themes for viewers to enjoy. Last week was Movie Week, next weekend is Icons Week, and on October 31, the celebrities will dress up for Halloween Week. If the celebs make it that far, they will also get to dance at the famous Blackpool Tower and take part in Musicals Week before the semi-final and final.

After the themes were shared on the official Strictly Instagram account, some fans pleaded for the show to have more themed weeks. One wrote, "There needs to be more themes, just look at Dancing with the Stars USA, they do brilliant themes."

"Where's switch-up week? Celebs switch to another pro for a week? That would be cool," another said, while a third added, "I wish Musicals Week could be earlier so that we can get a lot of dances from Musical Shows…" Other viewers weren't keen on Icons Week, with one writing, "Was hoping icon week would be dropped. It is awful."

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 6.15pm on BBC One.
