Strictly exit odds: Shaun Wright-Phillips favourite to leave

Shaun Wright-Phillips is the bookmakers' favourite to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, with odds of 5/6, according to the latest betting market. The former footballer has consistently been tipped to leave the competition since the series began, but has been saved by the public vote each week.

Last week, Melanie Walters was eliminated after landing in the bottom two alongside Shaun and his dance partner, Alexis Warr. The judges decided to save Shaun, sending the Gavin and Stacey star and her partner, Aljaz, home.

Betting odds for this weekend's elimination

Sarah Storey is close behind Shaun with odds of 15/8 of leaving. Jaime Winstone is in third place with odds of 15/1, while Bethany Antonia has odds of 12/1 of being voted off. On the other end of the scale, Lacey Turner remains the bookmakers' frontrunner to win the competition with odds of 100/1.

Tabby Stoecker is second favourite to win with odds of 66/1, and John Nellis is third with odds of 50/1. Dani Dyer could miss out on a place in the final, sitting in fourth place with odds of 25/1.

Bookmaker's comment on Shaun's chances

Speaking on the latest market, Betway's Lewis Knowles said: “Shaun Wright-Phillips is the favourite to be eliminated once again at 5/6, but he continues to defy his odds and dodge the exit.

“Sarah Storey is currently second favourite to leave at 15/8, so if Shaun manages to survive yet again, she could find herself in trouble. Jaime Winstone is next in the betting at 15/2, but there’s still a sizeable gap between her and the top two so it would be a shock to see her go, but it's not impossible.

“Shaun has become one to watch, with his repeated escapes keeping everyone guessing. If he manages to pull it off again, Sarah could be the one who finds herself in the firing line next.”

Delta Goodrem to miss Icons Week

Elsewhere, Delta Goodrem will not perform this weekend after injuring her rib, meaning her dance partner, Kai Widdrington, will also sit out. Earlier this week, a Strictly spokesperson confirmed the news that Delta had pulled out of Icons Week.

They said, “Due to injury, Delta Goodrem has been advised by doctors to rest and, as a result, will not dance on this weekend's Strictly Come Dancing.

“In line with the rules of the show, Delta and Kai will receive a bye through to next week, when it is hoped they will be able to dance again. We wish Delta the very best as she continues her recovery.”

Delta added: “I’m absolutely gutted that a rib injury means I won’t be able to dance on Strictly this week. I’ve been loving every second of this experience, so having to sit this one out is heartbreaking - especially after the high of Saturday night.

“I cannot tell you how much I love being a part of this magical show. I’m going to focus on resting and recovering, and hopefully I’ll be back on that dancefloor very soon. Thank you so much to everyone for all the love and support. It’s so appreciated. I’ll be cheering everyone on from the sidelines this week! Sending all my love, Delta xx”

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 6.15pm on BBC One.
