Strictly Come Dancing has announced that Olympic gold medallist Tabby Stoecker will be competing in the ballroom this year. The BBC One show confirmed the news on its social channels on Monday, August 10.
Who is Tabby Stoecker?
Tabby is a Team GB skeleton athlete who won gold at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy. She has also won a World Cup race, is a double World Championship medallist and European Championship medallist.
Tabby's reaction
Tabby said: "I am over the moon to be joining the cast of Strictly 2026. I’ve had the wildest year of my life so far, so to be rounding it off with a childhood dream of dancing in the Strictly ballroom is surreal and I can’t wait to get stuck in!"
In a clip, she added: "Hi everyone, it's Tabby Stoecker here, and I am so excited that I get to officially say that I am joining the class of Strictly Come Dancing 2026. I can't believe I can say that out loud, finally. I can't wait to get in the ballroom, to find out who my professional is, and just get stuck in with all the dancing."
