Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash have given fans a glimpse of their National Television Awards (NTA) outfits ahead of their red carpet appearance. The former X Factor contestant, 36, and ex-EastEnders actor Joe, 44, posed in the bathroom of their new £2 million home, which Stacey likened to a set from the 1983 film Scarface starring Al Pacino.
Just hours before the ceremony in London on Tuesday night, Stacey shared a series of photos on Instagram showing her in a slinky black dress perched on the edge of the bath, while Joe, suited and booted, sat in the tub. The couple recently moved from their Essex mansion known as Pickle Cottage to a new property in an undisclosed location.
Fans react to the photos
In her caption, Stacey wrote: "Getting ready for the NTAs in the Scarface bathroom [laughing emoji] I just can’t with this room I wholeheartedly love to imagine in my head that this is exactly how the people would dress in this bathroom back in the day couldn’t help myself with these pictures. Happy Wednesday everyone crossing our fingers for tonight."
Fans quickly filled the comments section with praise and playful corrections. One wrote: "This bathroom is amazing you guys look amazing," while another said: "Just needs a few bottles of champagne to complete the shot!" Others pointed out the day error, with one commenting: "Love the picture and good luck…. But it’s not Wednesday," and another adding: "It’s Tuesday Stace."
Privacy and new home plans
Another fan suggested: "You need to rein-act these photos after the NTAs," (sic) and one more said: "If you don’t win the award you need a special recognition one purely for these pictures, absolutely genius."
Stacey is nominated for the TV Presenter award at the NTAs, facing competition from Alison Hammond, Ant and Dec, Claudia Winkleman and David Attenborough. Days earlier, the former Loose Women panellist explained she would be more guarded about sharing her new home online, saying: "I can't wait to properly have some days off work & show you all around... I'm not going to show the outside of the house this time around. Just for security & privacy reasons... we had some issues at pickle cottage in the end & it's safer to just not show the building itself."
She added: "I am so excited though to take you into the rooms & get inspiration from you all. There's so much to think about & so many fun things to do. I will need help with this project because it's huge. I need all of your tips, tricks, ideas!"
Stacey concluded: "I'm going to really take my time and live here and work out what to do with each room because I don't want to rush it! But I can't tell you how excited I am to sink my teeth into this project with you all."
