Two fireworks displays will be held at Southport Football Club and Southport Rugby Football Club to celebrate Bonfire Night. Both events are scheduled for Friday, November 6, and will run alongside a number of independent displays across Merseyside for Bonfire Night Weekend.
Southport RFC Fireworks Extravaganza
The Southport Rugby FC evening will be hosted by Trevor Ford, with Mighty Radio broadcasting live. Gates open at 6pm, and the fireworks display is expected to begin at approximately 8pm. Food and drink traders will be on-site, and visitors are welcome to bring their own low chairs, small portable seats, and blankets. Personal alcohol, fireworks, sparklers, and flares are strictly prohibited from being brought into the grounds.
There will be no public car parking available within the club grounds for this event due to the single access road and event safety requirements.
Southport FC Fireworks Night
Southport FC will host its own event, presented by In Demand Radio presenter Claire Simmo. Gates open at 6pm, with a fireworks display by Bright Sparks beginning at 8pm. Visitors can watch the action under the shelter of the stands, with entertainment, food vendors, and sheltered seating available. There is no parking on site, and no food or drink purchased outside the stadium will be allowed entry. As of Sunday, October 4, organisers announced more than 700 tickets were already sold.
Other Displays Across Merseyside
Halloween and Bonfire Night are approaching, and firework displays will take place across the region. Communities and businesses across Liverpool and Merseyside host their own events, complete with entertainment and activities. Displays are scheduled at various locations, including Southport Pleasureland and the Totally Wicked Stadium. Local schools and sports teams also organise their own events for those seeking a more low-key affair.
Families and children of all ages are welcome, with most events featuring food and drink stalls or buffets. A select few offer funfair rides and bouncy castles.
