Spice & Spirits, an Indian restaurant and sports bar in Salford, has been named Best of Manchester at the English Curry Awards 2026 for the second consecutive year.
The 15th annual ceremony took place earlier this week at Grand Station in Wolverhampton, recognising the best restaurants, chefs, takeaways and hospitality professionals across nearly 40 award categories.
Second consecutive win for Salford venue
The restaurant, located on Manchester Road West in Little Hulton, first opened six and a half years ago and is owned by Bhavesh Patel. It serves classic and traditional dishes alongside street-style plates, including biryanis, paneers and shashlik kebabs.
Sharing the news online, the restaurant posted: “A proud moment for our owners as they receive their well-deserved certificate awards. Your dedication, leadership, and commitment continue to inspire us all. Here’s to every achievement and many more milestones to come!”
Owner credits customer-focused approach
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News last year, owner Bhavesh said their reputation and food, from head chef Ronit, has attracted customers from across the country. He explained: “We will always tailor things to exactly what the customers want. We provide lots of different options, for people of all tastes and all ages. No one ever comes here and says they can't find what they want.”
The Best of Manchester category also saw Mala, on Dale Street in the Northern Quarter, receive the Outstanding Award, while Kerala Curry House in Higher Ardwick was Recognised for Excellence.
North West winners and organisers' praise
Aroma Asian restaurant in Burnley was named Restaurant of the Year – North West, with Royal Balti House in Bolton receiving the Outstanding Award in that category.
