Robson Green has confirmed that filming for his upcoming crime series, The Northumbria Mysteries, has finished production. The actor, who has played DI Geordie Keating in Grantchester for 12 years since the series began in 2014, shared the update on Instagram as fans prepare for the show's final series.
Filming wraps on new series
In his Instagram post, Green wrote: "That's a WIND REEL AND PRINT (WRAP) on The Northumbria Mysteries. One of the most Joyous filming experiences of my career. What a story, what a team! Transmission TBC. A series for all the family set against the magical and jaw-dropping backdrop of Northumberland. Watch this space."

Grantchester's final series

Green's new series will feature an unlikely crime-solving duo: Joe, described as a 'jack-of-all-trades', and Oxford-educated DI Rose O'Connell. Joe's life has been shaped by regrets and missed opportunities, while Rose is a 'deep thinker with a brilliant mind'.

A synopsis for The Northumbria Mysteries reads: "In a classic odd-couple pairing, Joe and Rose combine their talents as they frustrate, confound, and ultimately surprise one another while unravelling a series of compelling crime mysteries."
