Restaurant Pine in Northumberland has been shortlisted for Best Restaurant of the Year outside London at the Food and Travel Reader Awards 2026. The venue has earned high praise from stars including Jodie Comer and Gary Lineker, who called it 'absolutely sensational'.
Award Recognition
The Food and Travel Reader Awards are seen as a bible for food businesses and enthusiasts, celebrating food, drink and travel. Pine is nominated alongside heavyweights such as Bavette (Leeds), Briar (Bruton), The Palmerston (Edinburgh), The Pony Chew Valley (Chew Magna), Restaurant Moor Hall (Lancashire), The Seahorse (Dartmouth) and Skof (Manchester).
Each nomination is based on feedback from real guests and readers of Food and Travel magazine, before being judged by an expert panel. Winners across 24 categories will be announced in November.

Celebrity Diners
Jodie Comer dined at Pine during a break in filming for 28 Years Later in summer 2024. Gary Lineker visited before the Tyne-Wear Derby in late April, telling Alan Shearer on their podcast The Rest is Football: "We went to Pine. Lovely tasting menu. Absolutely sensational."
