In Kishangarh, Rajasthan, a young boy walks on top of mounds of marble dust at a marble-waste dumping yard. Meanwhile, in Pannonhalma, Hungary, a person prays inside the historic basilica of the Pannonhalma Archabbey, a Unesco world heritage site.

In Akre, Iraq, ninety couples sat in rows during a mass wedding ceremony organised for the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), about 60 miles north of Erbil. In Kanal ob Soči, Slovenia, a participant jumped into the Soča River from a 17-metre-high bridge during a traditional jumping event.

In Pereira, Colombia, a girl plays with a kitten at a provisional shelter after a 7.4 magnitude earthquake in which at least 287 people have died. In East Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia, children observed damage at the St Fransiskus Asisi-Karot church in Ruteng, Manggarai regency, following an earthquake.

In Manila, Philippines, people waded through flood waters during heavy monsoon rains. In Istanbul, Turkey, residents cooled off in the Bosphorus as summer temperatures remained high.

Politics and Conflict

In Nairobi, Kenya, a police officer detained activist Julius Kamau during a protest demanding the immediate resignation of the inspector general of police, Douglas Kanja. In the West Bank, Israeli settlers stood on the doorstep of a house after the reopening of a settlement at Ganim, which had been dismantled more than 20 years ago as part of a disengagement plan.

In Kyiv, Ukraine, bookseller Alexander Bahlai reacted as firefighters tried to put out a fire at a city book market after a Russian missile attack. In Gaza City, Palestine, a salvage worker scrapped steel from the rubble of a building destroyed during Israel's war against Hamas.

In California, US, Al Green performed at the Stern Grove festival in San Francisco. In La Paz, Bolivia, a dog received a blessing of holy water during a mass celebrating Saint Roch's Day. In Wales, UK, mourners read the order of service during the funeral of Bonnie Tyler at Swansea Minster; the singer, born Gaynor Hopkins, died in hospital on 8 July, aged 75, in Portugal.

In Bellanwila, Sri Lanka, performers took part in the Pandam Paliya performance during the final Grand Randoli Perahera of the 76th Bellanwila Esala festival. In Kabul, Afghanistan, a boy held an AK-style rifle while sitting in a vehicle decorated with Taliban flags during celebrations marking the fifth anniversary of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan. In Jakarta, Indonesia, participants attended the greasy pole climbing race known as Panjat Pinang during celebrations for the 81st independence day.

In Ohio, US, a praying mantis was pictured at the Grandstand court during Sunday's second round of the Cincinnati Open at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.
