Noel Gallagher celebrates Man City derby win before Oasis announcement
Noel Gallagher celebrates Man City derby win

Noel Gallagher was pictured celebrating Manchester City's 1-0 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford, with the Oasis frontman set for more good news as the band prepares to make a major tour announcement tomorrow (September 14).

Gallagher was among hundreds of City fans who travelled across the city for the Manchester Derby. Photos show him smiling broadly as fellow supporters turned their backs to the Old Trafford turf for the famous Poznan celebration after the final whistle. Fans have performed the Poznan on every night of the Oasis Live 25 tour to Cigarettes and Alcohol.

Tour announcement teased

Gallagher's attendance at the derby could fuel rumours that the brothers will announce a residency at the Etihad Stadium as part of the world tour. Gallagher is usually based in London, and his presence in Manchester could point to what is in store for fans tomorrow.

Music industry sources told the MEN back in July that Oasis were plotting up to 12 nights at the Etihad Stadium, as well as an epic return to Knebworth Park for a record-breaking run of shows. However, illuminating teasers from the band have heavily suggested Glasgow's Celtic Park will see the opening gigs next summer.

City win despite red card

Manchester City took all three points with a 1-0 win at Old Trafford despite being a man down. Phil Foden was sent off in the first half for lashing out at Bruno Fernandes. But City were the better side after the break and took the lead through Erling Haaland just after the hour mark.

Controversy surrounded the winner as Enzo Fernandez looked to be offside in the build-up. Fans were teased about the announcement with a spectacular light show over Manchester earlier this week.
