Lady Kitty Spencer, the 35-year-old niece of Princess Diana, lives a life far removed from royal duties, keeping an ultra-private existence with her billionaire husband, Michael Lewis, 67, and their three-year-old daughter, Athena.
Kitty, the eldest daughter of Charles, the 9th Earl Spencer, and model Victoria Lockwood, rarely shares photos of her family and often attends events solo. She bears a striking resemblance to her late aunt, and some say she is living the dream Diana never could.
A globe-trotting lifestyle
The Lady Spencer travels the world, visiting the Hamptons, Cape Town, the French Riviera, and Florence. She has been seen partying with A-listers at the Cannes Film Festival and with Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco at the Bal de la Rose charity gala.
Last week, Kitty shared photos of the "sweetest summertime" in the Hamptons with her family, including a video of Michael and Athena playing in the sea. Other images showed her in a bikini, family trips to the supermarket, footprints in the sand, and Athena feeding farm animals.
Family ties and royal connections
Kitty met Michael in 2018 through mutual friends and married three years later in Italy. In 2023, the couple welcomed Athena, only announcing her birth in 2024.
Lady Kitty is a first cousin to Princes William and Harry, making Athena a second cousin to Princes George, Louis and Archie, as well as Princesses Charlotte and Lilibet.
Diana's dream of a quieter life
Princess Diana reportedly once dreamed of a similar life, with friends suggesting she wanted to move to America for a quieter life with her two children. In 2020, Diana's former butler, Paul Burrell, told CBS News: "I remember she set out in her sitting room, the plans of a home in Malibu…and she said to me: 'I'm buying this house, to give William and Harry a new perspective on life.'"
