The Yorkshire Vet returns to Channel 5 this evening, Thursday, August 13, at 8pm, with Britain's oldest working farming couple Steve and Jean Green set to feature. The couple, known for their appearances on the Channel 5 docu-series, have captured viewers' hearts with their enduring relationship and farming life.
Mr and Mrs Green's Ages
Steve Green, widely recognised as one of the country's oldest working farmers, is 97 years old. His 91st birthday celebrations were marked on The Yorkshire Vet in 2020. His wife, Jean Green, known for her slogan T-shirts and sassy comments, is 74 years old and will turn 75 in September.
How Mr and Mrs Green Met
The couple, who have a 23-year age gap, have been married for more than four decades. Their paths first crossed when Steve hired Jean's brother for a farming job, and three months later, the couple got married. Their connection remains strong, with the pair renewing their wedding vows in 2020, shown on The Yorkshire Vet. Steve told his wife: "Ever since we met 40 years ago you've made me the happiest man in the world. You mean everything." She replied: "When I set eyes on you it was such a magical moment. I will love you forever."

The couple have one rarely-seen daughter called Sarah Green, who prefers to keep out of the spotlight. However, she has previously featured on her parents' show At Home with the Greens, documenting their life on the farm during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Fans had been eagerly awaiting news of a third series, which has since been confirmed by Channel 5. The Yorkshire Vet's Facebook page has shared that they've been hard at work filming this upcoming series, although no details regarding a start date have been released.
