Merseyside BarbersNo1 hits 20th location milestone

BarbersNo1, a barbershop chain that started in St Helens, has reached a significant milestone by opening its 20th location. The business has grown into a regional success, attracting a loyal customer base and even visits from football stars.

Celebrity Clientele and Growth

Everton and Liverpool players, including Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Wataru Endo, Yerry Mina, Richarlison de Andrade, and Steven Gerrard, have all visited the barbers. Brand director Jordan Roberts, 31, from Huyton, has been part of the journey for 13 of the company's 15 years.

The new locations include stores inside JD Sports at Liverpool ONE, Stratford, Dartford, and the Trafford Centre. Jordan noted the positive reception at Liverpool ONE, saying, "Liverpool ONE has been chocker so far. You've got eyes on you all over the place. You can see people are like, 'that's a barbers in the middle of the shop' and then you see people who are like, 'I may as well get my hair cut while I'm here'."

Community-Driven Success

Jordan attributes the brand's popularity to its community focus. "Especially with JD, they've seen how much it is community driven. We're a really big community-based company," he said. "For me, the Liverpool-based community, everyone knows us and everyone knows the brand. Just spreading that on, we can go into more cities and do the same thing."

Reflecting on the milestone, Jordan said, "I remember when I was 18 and joined, getting told the vision. Over the years, you slowly start building into it and getting closer to the goal - it is mindblowing. It's an amazing feeling for us to actually hit the milestone."

Future Plans

The expansion is not slowing down. "We just opened Knowsley Village three weeks ago. That is four shops in the space of a month," Jordan added. "It's crazy, but we thrive under the pressure. That's when we all start to come alive a bit more, and ideas start flowing."

Bookings can be made via the BarbersNo1 website for each location.
