Love Island's Lorenzo breaks silence with cryptic Hinge post

Love Island winner Lorenzo Alessi has finally broken his social media silence with a cryptic post and a Hinge screenshot, leaving fans puzzled.

It's been over a week since Lorenzo Alessi and Julia Majchrzak were declared the latest winners of ITV's reality dating show. The duo had become a popular choice both individually and as a couple among viewers, bagging the £50,000 cash prize.

Since their victory, the pair have remained notably quiet. While numerous other Islanders have made guest appearances on podcasts and TV interviews, as well as posting updates on their social media accounts, Lorenzo and Julia have largely kept mum.

Julia's public call-outs

Julia eventually surfaced in a post by fellow Casa bombshell Charleen Murphy, swiftly followed by her own statement. Now Lorenzo has ended his own social media silence. Prior to this, he had only featured in a Vogue video celebrating his new role as their agony uncle, reports OK!.

However, he has now shared a post commemorating his time in the villa. But unlike virtually all of his co-stars, including Julia, who made similar posts with lengthy statements, he chose a different approach.

Sharing 11 black and white photos from the series, many featuring him with his winning partner, he simply captioned them: "Kiss bang baby x".

In addition to this, Lorenzo has also made notable posts on his Instagram stories. One that sparked considerable chatter among fans was a screenshot of the Hinge dating app.

The screenshot displays a page asking users, "Why are you leaving Hinge?" followed by several options such as: 'I met someone', 'Using Hinge is too expensive', and 'Prefer not to say'.

It's unclear which option Lorenzo selected, if any. This was swiftly succeeded by another story post: a monochrome snapshot of Julia.

She's evidently dolled up for an evening out, gazing downwards, with the location tag revealing a swanky five-star hotel in London. This sudden burst of social media activity follows a period of quiet, punctuated by a few uncomfortable interviews for Lorenzo and Julia.

Fan reactions

During their inaugural public appearance on This Morning earlier this week, Julia disclosed that the pair had spent some time apart since departing the villa, and she was still awaiting their first date.

She took Lorenzo to task once more during their stint on Capital Xtra, where she announced he was 'embarrassing her'. She declared, "Guys, this is not funny. He has no time to arrange a date for five days, but he had time to be in bed liking other girls' pictures."

Lorenzo has consistently maintained that they are still exclusively dating, admitted his naivety, and that he's still figuring out what "is acceptable".

Fans were quick to voice their opinions on his latest social media antics. One quipped: "And what are we supposed to do with this information, Lorenzo?"

Another chimed in, "I think he's just rage-baiting you guys now." Meanwhile, another individual remarked, "It kills me he didn't even circle one of them."

Love Island is streaming on ITVX.
