Love Island star Angel Swift has disclosed that she possesses a rare genetic trait known as 'toe thumbs', which affects only about 1% of the population. The condition, medically termed brachydactyly type D, is also shared by Hollywood actress Megan Fox and former Love Island contestant Megan Barton Hanson.
Confession at SHEIN's VIP O Beach Event
Swift made the candid revelation while attending SHEIN's exclusive VIP party at O Beach in Ibiza, a gathering of celebrities and influencers celebrating the summer season. She acknowledged being long aware of her unusual thumbs, which are characterized by their short and broad appearance, resembling toes.
“I've got toe thumbs. One per cent of the population's got it, and they're called toe thumbs,” she laughed during the event.
Embracing the Unusual Feature
Displaying her hands, Swift joked about the distinctive shape of her digits. “Look at the size of mine, they're so width-y,” she said. Curious about other celebrities with the same trait, she turned to Google and was surprised to find that Megan Fox and Megan Barton Hanson also have toe thumbs.
The condition, brachydactyly type D, is a harmless inherited genetic trait that affects the size and shape of the thumb but typically causes no health problems. Rather than hiding the feature, Swift embraced it with humor, proving she is comfortable poking fun at herself.
Love Island Journey and Current Relationship
Swift starred on ITV's Love Island in 2025, where she coupled up with Ty Isherwood. The couple is still dating, and Swift continues to enjoy time in the public eye. At the SHEIN event, she wore an eye-catching black and white polka dot bikini short set, perfectly suited to the glamorous beach club atmosphere.
The celebration saw guests soaking up the sunshine while showcasing bold summer fashion, with SHEIN hosting one of the island's hottest parties. Swift's revelation adds a quirky personal detail to her public persona, highlighting a rare trait she shares with a small group of celebrities.
