Police have identified three youths linked to a spate of anti-social behaviour in the Saddleworth village of Greenfield and said they will be dealt with accordingly.
There have been a number of complaints about teenagers causing trouble around the village in recent days and weeks. The problems have centred on the Tesco car park and the supermarket entrance on Wellington Road, officers said.
Following tip-offs from the public, two youths have been identified as being involved, while a third was found to be carrying fireworks.
Action to be taken
Police said appropriate action will now be taken against the three youths, who will be dealt with accordingly. Regular police patrols will also take place around the village.
In a letter to residents, PCSO Wayne Turley said: "We would like to reassure residents that we are aware of the concerns surrounding anti-social behaviour in the Greenfield area and are taking positive action to address the issues being reported. We understand the impact this behaviour can have on the local community and appreciate residents taking the time to report their concerns."
Ongoing patrols
Turley added: "Please be assured that neighbourhood officers will continue to carry out regular patrols in the area and work with our local partners to prevent further incidents. The information provided by residents is invaluable in helping us identify those responsible and take effective action."
He also thanked residents for their reports, saying: "Your continued vigilance and cooperation help us keep Greenfield a safe and welcoming place for everyone."
