Liverpool are preparing to open talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a potential transfer for winger Bradley Barcola. Initial discussions with Barcola's representatives have prompted the club to formalise their interest with an official approach.
Andoni Iraola has been seeking a wide player since Mohamed Salah's departure. Barcola has been on Liverpool's radar for some time, and the club hope to make him their third summer signing, following Victor Munoz and Jeremy Jacquet.
David Ngog: Highly-Rated Teen
David Ngog signed his first professional contract with PSG in 2006 as a highly-rated teenager. Two years later, he arrived at Anfield as a 19-year-old under Rafael Benitez.
The striker played under three different managers at Liverpool, including Roy Hodgson and Sir Kenny Dalglish. Ngog scored 19 goals and assisted six times in 94 appearances before leaving for Bolton Wanderers in 2011. Despite a promising start, he later played for Swansea City, Reims, Panionios, Ross County and Budapest Honved, retiring in Lithuania at age 31.
Nicolas Anelka: 223-Goal Striker
Nicolas Anelka had already played in the Premier League before joining Liverpool on loan in 2001. He left PSG for Arsenal at 17 and made 42 goal contributions from 1997 to 1999. A move to Real Madrid followed before returning to France a year later.
PSG then loaned Anelka to Liverpool in the January 2001 transfer window. He made 22 appearances for the Reds, scoring five goals, helping the team to a second-place Premier League finish. Gerard Houllier opted against a permanent deal, and Anelka joined Manchester City. He later scored a brace against Liverpool in a 2-1 win in May 2003. Throughout his career, Anelka scored 223 goals for club and country, winning two Champions League titles and the European Championship with France.
Mamadou Sakho: PSG Title Winner
Mamadou Sakho had made 201 appearances for PSG before his £18 million move to Liverpool in 2013. The defender had won the Ligue 1 title just weeks before joining, bringing experience to Brendan Rodgers' side.
Sakho made 80 appearances for Liverpool, scoring three goals. After Rodgers was sacked in 2016, Jurgen Klopp kept the centre-half for half a season before loaning him to Crystal Palace. Following an impressive temporary spell, Sakho signed permanently for £26 million in 2017. He later played for Montpellier and Torpedo Kutaisi before retiring in January this year at age 35.
