EastEnders star Tameka Empson has revealed that Kim Fox's wedding to Howie Danes will be a spectacular, unforgettable occasion, with the character pulling out all the stops to make it a memorable day.
Speaking exclusively to Metro, Empson teased that the wedding will be like no other, with Kim aiming for a celebration that could impress even Beyoncé.
A Wedding Fit for the Kimfluencer
'With this wedding – it's like no other wedding – and she's pulled out all the stops, it will be very memorable,' Empson said. 'I think that there will be some people next year who will try to recreate it as well. If this goes as far as Beyoncé, I think she will be very impressed!'
'It's not just about cowboy Carter, do you know what I mean?! It's the Kimfluencer!'
On the dress, Empson confirmed: 'I can say the colour is white: It's her first wedding on the square. She was married before, but we're not gonna talk about that. It's off screen.'
Queen of the Day
'But this, this time, I think, she's definitely going to be the Queen of the day. It's Queen of the day that she's going for, and I don't think people are going to expect what she's chosen. Whatever you're thinking, think again!'
'Being Kim, of course, there has to have the oomph factor, and there's definitely a oomph factor about.'
When asked if the wedding will go ahead without a hitch, Empson responded: 'Has it ever been plain sailing?! Even though it may not go according to plan, it's still a great wedding. It's gonna be warming of the heart. I'm hoping people might shed a tear of joy.'
The Future for Kim and Howie
Discussing the couple's future, Empson said: 'It'd be interesting to see how they have their first argument as a married couple. Just sharing that space. They live together, but when you put a ring on it, it's very different. It's Albert Square, babe, it's EastEnders, do you know what I mean?!'
On what makes Kim and Howie such a beloved couple, Empson added: 'It's the love. They support each other and they will each other to win. Howie allows Kim to be Kim. He doesn't stop her. He just allows her. If you could think back to when he bought the camera equipment and things like that, you know, he supports her.'
'I think, you know, just as long as you work with me and not against me, that could be OK. So I think that's what people are seeing: the genuine love and support.'
The wedding comes amid a difficult period for the Fox-Trueman family, following Denise Fox's cancer diagnosis and the return of Gray Atkins, who had plotted to kidnap Jordan Fox. Asked how Kim can stay positive, Empson said: 'She's just got to do it. I think it's that thing of you've got to dig deep, you can't let anybody down. She's proven herself, not only her sister but to herself. When you've got so many different family members with different needs, somebody's gotta do it.'
