Jo Whiley will present a special edition of her Radio 2 show from the Tolbooth in Stirling on Thursday, September 10, ahead of the BBC Radio 2 in the Park event. The programme, in collaboration with BBC Introducing, will showcase emerging Scottish talent, with live performances from Alice Faye, Fright Years, and James Emmanuel.
Live performances and interviews
Each artist will perform an original song and a cover track live on the show. Alice Faye, a folk singer from Glasgow, was named BBC Introducing Scotland Artist of the Year this year, earning her a slot on the Introducing stage at TRNSMT 2026. Fright Years, a four-piece band from Edinburgh, played at TRNSMT 2025 and recorded a Maida Vale session for BBC Introducing LIVE 2025. James Emmanuel, a Nigerian-born, Edinburgh-based singer, has performed on the BBC Introducing stage at TRNSMT 2026 and received support from Emily Pilbeam on 6Music and Jess Iszatt on Radio 1 Introducing.
Audience opportunity
The event is an 18+ live radio recording, and free tickets will be allocated by a random draw. Registration is open until 9pm on Monday, August 10, with each applicant able to apply for one pair of tickets. Highlights from the night will be broadcast on BBC Introducing in Scotland on Friday, September 11, from 8pm to 10pm on BBC Radio Scotland.
