ITV reality star Jordan Wright was almost penniless when he died in March this year, with probate documents revealing he left an estate of just £10,760. The 33-year-old TOWIE star, who was the ex-boyfriend of Strictly Come Dancing 2025 contestant Vicky Pattison, had not made a will before his death.
Estate valued lower than expected
The probate documents were issued by the High Court of Justice on Wednesday (October 7). The estate was originally valued at £31,247 but ended up less than £11,000 following deductions. His father Neville Wright was named as the administrator of the estate.
This final figure was well below previous estimations of his wealth, which put it at between £50,000 and £150,000.
Circumstances of his death
Jordan died in a drainage canal near Bang Tao Beach in Phuket, Thailand. His body was found in stagnant water, reportedly lying face down at around 12.30pm on Saturday, March 14, by a passerby who contacted the police.
Ahead of his death, CCTV captured him running around "looking restless" outside of a nearby hotel. The Crime Asia Facebook page shared details that he was identified as a 33-year-old British national.
It is understood that he was discovered lying face down in the canal in a grey shirt and black trousers without any shoes on. A keycard for the Coco Phuket Bangtao Hotel was found in his pocket with his iPhone 17 nearby on the canal bank.
Investigation findings
Investigators said there were no signs of physical assault or a struggle. His body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital for an autopsy. Police searched his hotel and found nothing suspicious.
Police chief Sutthirak Chuthong said in a statement: "The guest was identified as Mr Jordan Wright, a British national, whom the hotel had been unable to contact."
"A search of the room revealed no signs of forced entry or other irregularities." The chief added: "Hotel records showed that he had checked in alone and was due to check out on March 13, but staff reported that he never checked out."
"CCTV footage showed that he appeared restless and was moving back and forth in front of the hotel before leaving the area. His movements eventually led to the location where his body was later discovered."
Life before fame
His final social media post, dated March 6, showed an image of the reality star enjoying a glass of wine in an infinity pool in Thailand, alongside snaps from boat trips, scuba diving, and motorbike riding.
Before finding TV fame, Jordan had joined the fire brigade at 19 years old and worked in the service for six years before resigning to pursue reality show stardom. After his stints on Ex on the Beach and TOWIE, he openly admitted to feeling "hugely unfulfilled, stagnant, and lost" by the reality TV lifestyle.
Following the tragedy, his former manager, Alex Shafiq, told the Daily Mail: "He was a very good-looking lad, with a great, wide smile. He tried TV for a bit, but DJing was his real passion; that's what he wanted to focus on."
