Golden Globes 2026: Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas & Top Nominees

The 2026 Golden Globe Awards transformed the Beverly Hilton into a constellation of Hollywood's brightest stars, with Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas proving to be the evening's most captivating couple. The event, hosted for a second consecutive year by comedian Nikki Glaser, saw a parade of showbiz luminaries grace the red carpet.

Red Carpet Romance and Old Hollywood Glamour

All eyes were on global icon Priyanka Chopra, who embodied timeless elegance in a midnight blue gown. The off-the-shoulder design, featuring a lamé top and a dramatic tiered skirt, paid homage to Old Hollywood glamour. Accessorised with a stunning diamond necklace and with her hair styled in loose waves, the 43-year-old former beauty queen and Bollywood superstar looked radiant alongside her husband.

Chopra was inseparable from Nick Jonas, 33, who looked dapper in a classic suit. The singer-songwriter, who previously won a Golden Globe for his song 'Home' from Ferdinand, was the picture of a doting partner as the pair posed affectionately for photographers.

The Battle for Golden Glory: Key Nominations

Inside the ceremony, the competition was fierce. Leading the pack with an impressive nine nominations was Paul Thomas Anderson's dark comic epic, One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn. It was a frontrunner for Best Picture in the Musical or Comedy category.

In the Best Picture – Drama race, contenders included Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein, Chloe Zhao's Shakespeare biopic Hamnet, and Ryan Coogler's supernatural western Sinners. Joachim Von Trier's Sentimental Value and Jafar Panahi's It Was Just an Accident also vied for the top drama prize.

On the television side, Netflix's Adolescence earned significant recognition, securing acting nods for its ensemble cast including Ashley Walters and Stephen Graham, and a nomination for Best Limited Series. However, it was narrowly outpaced in total nominations by the latest season of The White Lotus, which scored six.

Notable Snubs and Surprises

The ceremony was not without its surprises. The film adaptation of Wicked: For Good was notably absent from the Best Picture – Musical or Comedy list, though its stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande received acting nominations. In a twist, Eva Victor earned a surprise Best Actress – Drama nomination for the independent feature Sorry Baby, competing against heavyweights like Jennifer Lawrence and Julia Roberts.

This year also marked a historic expansion for the Golden Globes, as podcasts were included in the awards categories for the very first time, broadening the show's traditional focus on film and television. The legendary Helen Mirren was the pre-announced recipient of the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award.

With Sentimental Value following close behind with eight nominations and Sinners securing seven, the 2026 Golden Globes celebrated a diverse and ambitious year in global entertainment, setting the stage for the upcoming awards season.
