Northumberland's King's Birthday Honours list is led by former Labour minister and author Christopher Mullin, who is knighted for political and public service, making him the county's most recognisable name in this year's honours.
Sir Christopher Mullin
Sir Christopher, who served as an MP and government minister and is also known for his acclaimed political diaries, heads the Northumberland list. He receives a Knights Bachelor for political and public service.
Other Notable Honours
The list also includes senior NHS leader Samantha Allen, chief executive of NHS North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board, who receives a CBE for services to the NHS.
John Marshall is awarded an OBE for services to the North East economy through his work with Newcastle Gateshead Initiative. Other OBE recipients include Dr Ian Ritchey for services to engineering and Alice Witherow for services to education.
Community Honours
Honours also go to community figures working in faith, youth organisations and charity fundraising. The Reverend Canon Glyn Evans receives an MBE for services to the community in Morpeth, while Margaret Anne Lester is recognised for services to Girlguiding.
Barbara Scrimshaw is awarded a BEM for charitable fundraising for the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals.
