Love Island twist: Ex-Islanders return to vote couple out before final
Ex-Islanders return to vote out couple before Love Island final

The Love Island villa is set for turmoil as a returning twist sees former Islanders vote out one couple just before the live final. On Friday (July 24), Priya and Aidan were eliminated after receiving the fewest public votes in a compatibility vote. Now, with the final approaching, ex-Islanders return during Sunday's (July 26) penultimate episode to decide who should be dumped next.

Ex-Islanders return to the Fire Pit

The episode begins with Julia receiving a text: "Islanders. It's time to be reunited with some familiar faces. Please get ready and head to the Fire Pit." The eliminated former Islanders make a dramatic return, gathering at the Fire Pit as the surviving couples take their places. Samraj then gets a text: "Islanders. The fate of your Love Island journey is now in the hands of the ex-Islanders."

Each returning Islander has selected one couple they believe does not deserve a spot in the final, meaning one couple will be instantly eliminated. One by one, the former Islanders rise to deliver their vote, but the ballot quickly becomes charged as lingering grievances emerge.

Unresolved matters addressed

When Lola votes, she says: "I think everyone is prioritising their couple. And maybe the couple I am picking doesn't always feel like they're prioritising working on their own relationship, and sometimes get involved in other people's relationships a little bit much and make me question the motives a little bit." Sam challenges an Islander he suspects lacks genuine intentions, and Tina expresses her dismay. Charleen also confronts Mica about remarks that left her unimpressed.

Elicia, when her turn comes, fumes: "There was a comment that was made publicly that was job-shaming myself." Though Priya is not present to address the issue, Elicia remains thoroughly displeased by one Islander's response to her statements and demands explanations.

Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
