The 2025 Emmy Awards have concluded with Netflix's 'Adolescence', Apple TV+'s 'Severance', HBO's 'Hacks' and Apple TV+'s 'The Studio' emerging as the night's biggest winners. The ceremony also saw a surprise win for HBO's 'Somebody Somewhere' in the writing category.
In the drama categories, 'The Pitt' won Outstanding Drama Series, with Noah Wyle taking home the Lead Actor award. 'Adolescence' won Outstanding Limited Series, and its star Stephen Graham won Lead Actor in a Limited Series. Supporting Actor winners included Owen Cooper ('Adolescence') and Tramell Tillman ('Severance').
On the comedy side, 'The Studio' won Outstanding Comedy Series, with Seth Rogen's team winning for writing. Jean Smart won Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for 'Hacks', while Hannah Einbinder won Supporting Actress. Adam Brody was nominated but Seth Rogen won Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
Notable wins in the limited series acting categories included Cristin Milioti for 'The Penguin' and Erin Doherty for 'Adolescence'. The variety/talk series category was won by 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert', while 'Last Week Tonight with John Oliver' won both variety talk series and variety sketch series.
Outstanding Directing awards went to Adam Randall for 'Slow Horses' (drama) and Philip Barantini for 'Adolescence' (limited series). The reality competition winner was 'The Traitors'. The special events category was won by 'SNL 50: The Anniversary Special'.
The wins for 'Somebody Somewhere' were unexpected, with its writing team taking the prize for comedy series writing. All winners were announced during the ceremony held in Los Angeles.
