Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) has a big announcement for his dad Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) in upcoming Emmerdale scenes, but the joy may be short-lived as Vinny Dingle's exit looms.
Lewis and Kev bond over bike riding
After recent challenges, Lewis and Kev are back on good terms and continue to make progress. When Lewis reveals he can't ride a bike, Kev jumps at the chance to teach him, unaware that Kev has secrets and also can't ride a bike himself.
On the green, Kev attempts to show Lewis how to ride but quickly crashes to the floor. Lewis lies beside him, and they laugh, bonding as father and son.
Lewis's surprise announcement
As they stare up at the clouds, Lewis surprises Kev with an announcement. With things positive for Lewis, it may relate to his relationship with Vinny, as Bradley Johnson is leaving the ITV soap.
Bradley Riches praised Chris Coghill's stunt work: 'My favourite thing that Chris has ever said is “I do my own stunts”, which is the best thing ever. He flips over this bike and the director wants a bit of safety. Chris says “don’t worry, I’ve done worse things!” and flips himself over the bike! It’s so funny.'
He added: 'They lie down look at the clouds and talk about life. Kev asks some awkward weird questions, which are the weirdest thing that a dad could ask. It’s a pivotal scene for Lewis and Kev where you realise they are actually going to be okay together.'
