Emmerdale star Katie Hill rushed to hospital after nail injury

Emmerdale actress Katie Hill was taken to hospital after injuring herself while renovating her house. The 23-year-old, who plays Sarah Dingle in the ITV soap, went to A&E after stepping on a nail.

Instagram plea for nail technician

Sharing a photo of her false nails on her Instagram story, Katie asked followers: "This may be a long shot, but are there any nail techs in Leeds that could fit me in either tomorrow or Wednesday? Message me if so! Had to cancel my appointment due to stepping on a nail and having to go to A&E. House renovation going well!"

She captioned the picture: "This is what we're working with," along with a face-palm emoji. Later, she confirmed she had found an appointment, writing: "Thanks everyone who reached out, much appreciated!"

Recent loss and storyline

Earlier this year, Katie announced the death of her dog Millie at age 16, saying: "Our little Millie moo, the best dog ever. 16 years of loving you, life won't be the same without you. I'll never forget all the beautiful memories we made. Sleep tight little baby, we will miss you so much and love you forever."

On Emmerdale, Katie has been involved in high-profile storylines this year. This week it was confirmed her character Sarah was Dr Todd's killer after discovering he had raped her grandmother Charity. Sarah pushed her, causing her to hit her head on a table corner, but Charity took the fall to protect her granddaughter after Dr Todd nearly revealed that baby Leyla is not Sarah's but Charity and Ross's daughter.
