EastEnders' grooming storyline intensifies as disgraced copper Craig Ingram, now sacked from the police force, turns his manipulation on Amy Mitchell. Tuesday's episode sees Craig, who lost his job over gross misconduct, paint himself as an innocent victim and leave Amy panic-stricken when he announces he is planning to leave.
Craig's manipulation deepens
Having officially lost his job, Craig is utterly bereft, and Amy's constant questioning irritates him. While Amy does not know the true scope of his inappropriate behaviour, her dad Jack does, and he shares with Callum Highway that gross misconduct was behind the sacking.
Craig's manipulation keeps Amy in line as he presents himself as a victim of injustice who lost his job due to the actions of others. When he tells her he is planning to leave, she is left deeply under his spell and panic-stricken.
Denise's cancer battle and family turmoil
Meanwhile, Denise is wounded to learn that Darnell Larson is not a donor match. Though she tries to brave face it in front of Jack, she privately breaks down in body-wracking sobs. Feeling written off by both Amy and Raymond, Denise admits to Kim and Chelsea that she feels useless, later confessing to Phil Mitchell that she is unsure if she can carry on in so much misery and pain.
Though Phil tells her to confide in Jack Branning, she cannot, instead asking Google what will happen to her if she stops her cancer treatment.
Suki's suspicions and other Square drama
Nicola Mitchell is slapped in the face with a ton of unpaid bills from when she let son Harry run the club, and in an attempt to raise cash, Gemma Hawkins offers the bar to Ravi Gulati for Nugget's 18th birthday party. As Nugget and Avani begin to question Ash Panesar, her mum Suki eyes her suspiciously. Back at home, against wife Eve's advice, Suki makes contact with Ash's wife, Gigi.
Elsewhere, Peter Beale is overjoyed to learn from dad Ian that he is being released from prison the following Wednesday, unaware that back on the Square, his wife Lauren and Mark Fowler Jr are searching for a place to get sweaty.
Tuesday's episode: Amy and Denise clash
Amy is not only dealing with drama as it pertains to Craig, it is also coming at her thick and fast at home. After fielding Denise's questions yesterday, today it is Kim's turn to interrogate. Kim's digging is interrupted when Denise begins to feel unwell, and later Amy and Denise come to blows when Amy feels Denise is shutting her out. Amy is later consoled by Ash, who overhears her and Avani going at it.
Speaking of Ash, Suki continues to snoop around in her business, deeply suspicious of the reason she is back, though her admission to Eve that she has contacted Gigi sees Eve warn her wife to give up the search for answers. Elsewhere, Ned is intrigued to discover that a former business partner of his is back in the UK, while Lily's clash with Jean over her university plans sees her turn to Harvey for advice.
