DJ Bou Invites BA Crew Member to Gig After Unruly Passenger

A British Airways flight attendant who dealt with an unruly passenger on a flight was invited to a gig by a DJ, where she performed a song inspired by the incident. The encounter happened on August 6, when drum and bass DJ Bou was travelling from London Heathrow to Las Vegas in business class and heard screaming from the back of the plane.

Flight Attendant's Firm Response

Footage shared on social media shows a 31-year-old male passenger repeatedly swearing, standing up, and shouting before takeoff. A hostess, later named as Sophie Turner, stepped in, ordering the man to "stay seated" over 26 times. She firmly blocked the passenger, warned him she would use physical restraint, and held her ground until the plane returned to the gate.

Armed police eventually boarded the aircraft and escorted the man away. He was arrested on suspicion of being drunk on board an aircraft at around 5.30pm on Thursday, August 6.

DJ's Praise and Invitation

DJ Bou shared details of the incident on Instagram, saying he was hoping to get some sleep during the long-haul flight but heard a lot of noise from the back of the plane. In a clip posted on Instagram, he praised the hostess for the way she dealt with the man and called on BA to give her a raise. "Big love to her," he said.

After sharing a short clip of the man being arrested, the DJ said he couldn't resist producing a song in the aftermath. He revealed that the hostess followed him on Instagram and asked if she could come and say hi. Sophie wrote: "This is me!! You're on my flight!! I'm howling!!!" After he replied, "No wayyyy," the hostess wrote: "Can I come say hi."

Sophie Joins DJ on Stage

"You're a legend for holding it down," DJ Bou told her, before sharing a selfie with Sophie. "We ended up taking a picture together and I ended up inviting her to my show," he explained. "And she came and performed a song with me live."

Footage from the gig shows the DJ introducing the flight attendant and praising her in front of his fans. As the song, named "Stay Seated," begins playing, Sophie can be seen dancing by the DJ, who wrote on the clip: "Big up Sophie ur a real one."

Fan Reactions and BA Response

Fans were amazed by the encounter, with one branding BA "British air raves" and someone else joking that the DJ should consider hiring Sophie as his tour security. A person wrote: "Nahhhh this is so so good @british_airways every time the seatbelt sign comes on a flight, I expect to hear this track now." Someone else wrote: "Dude you're a legend." A third posted: "This is hilarious and ever so dope." Another said: "That flight attendant is a legend. What a hero. Everyone appreciate your flight attendants because they have to put up with this s**t and remember their real job is to save your life in an emergency!"

In response to the incident, a spokesperson for BA said: "Disruptive or abusive behaviour is never tolerated on board, and the safety of our customers and crew is our highest priority. When these incidents occur, the appropriate action will always be taken."
