Corrie's Tony Maudsley shares festive cobbles snap

Coronation Street star Tony Maudsley has shared a sweet snap from a festive-themed cobbles, with the photo being posed as fans of the show were seen casting the same verdict about his character, George Shuttleworth, and on-screen partner Christina Boyd.

Festive First Look at Weatherfield

It's yet to be revealed what's happening in Weatherfield this Christmas, but, earlier this month, actor Ryan Mulvey was seen giving fans of the ITV soap a first look at this year's festivities in the fictional soap world. In the clips, snow could be seen covering the street, and decorations could be seen adorning the iconic Rovers Return pub. Now, Ryan has appeared alongside Tony in a snap from the famous street.

Taking to Instagram, Tony shared a smiling photo of the pair with Amy Robbins, who plays on-screen partner Christina, and Ryan's on-screen siblings, Savanna Pennington and Molly Kilduff, who play Joanie and Shanice Michaelis.

Fans' Verdict on George and Christina

Alongside the photo, taken outside No.8 Coronation Street, which is the home of the Platt family, Tony said: "We borrowed the neighbour's kids for the day! #corrie." Savanna was quick to respond to the post, writing: "Had the best time," while a message from Molly's family-run account read: "Thank you for being so lovely with Molly, we loved meeting you both properly."

The post was shared on Instagram after Corrie fans were flocking to social media to share their love for Tony and Amy's on-screen relationship. As viewers have recently seen, George has been trying to be a pillar of support for Christina, as she revealed she was the mother of the late Rachel Parkinson, the mother of Sally and Tim Metcalfe's new foster child, Lucy Parkinson.

Recent Episode Developments

During Wednesday's (October 7) episode of the ITV soap, Todd Grimshaw, who also knows the connection, was seen having to help George cover for Christina, after realising she and Rachel's ashes were gone. Eventually, George found Christina in the precinct as she struggled with the loss of the daughter she had given up as a baby.

Speaking about the scenes between the pair, @Raq91x said: "Whoever decided to put Christina & George together needs a pay rise, my absolute faves! #Corrie." @mitchelld199 commented: "One of the best things about Corrie is George and Christina." @DrSwarla2025 replied: "Completely agree they are fantastic together." @MaryLuvsLaughin added: "Christina & George are really great characters, much needed. A bit like Audrey & Alfie! #Corrie."
