Coronation Street fans have been left swooning over Michael Le Vell following his latest appearance on the soap. The actor, who portrays Kevin Webster on the ITV programme, first appeared in 1983 when Kevin arrived as Hilda Ogden's lodger, played by Jean Alexander.
It was not long before he became a firm favourite among viewers, establishing himself as a soap legend. Over the years, Kevin has been at the centre of numerous major storylines, from his marriage and family life with ex-wife Sally (Sally Dynevor) and daughters Rosie (Helen Flanagan) and Sophie (Brooke Vincent), to his recent relationship with Abi (Sally Carman).
Recent Storylines and Health Battles
Particularly over the past 12 months, Kevin received a testicular cancer diagnosis last year. The Webster family faced further devastation when Kevin's sister Debbie (Sue Devaney) was subsequently diagnosed with dementia, according to the Daily Star.
While Kevin's cancer treatment proved successful, Debbie's dementia has deteriorated in recent episodes. During Monday's instalment (September 7), her loved ones gathered in the Rovers Return to mark her birthday.
Fan Reaction to New Look
However, it was Kevin's youthful looks that had fans talking. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one viewer said: "Michael Le Val is looking good at the moment."
One viewer commented: "A shave and a good haircut works wonders." Another agreed: "I thought the same. Looks years younger and healthier." A further fan wrote: "Think his beard aged him looks much better clean-shaven." Sharing similar sentiments, a fifth viewer remarked: "Quite agree, thought he looked really nice tonight, much younger looking." Another person observed: "He does look good. I noticed he looks fresh and glowing."
Personal Life and Wedding
Michael married Louise Gibbons earlier this year. The pair exchanged vows in a lavish ceremony in May, with family, friends and Kevin's Coronation Street colleagues in attendance. Guests included Sally Dynevor, who portrays his on-screen former wife Sally Metcalfe, and Alan Halsall, who plays his best mate Tyrone Dobbs. Joe Duttine, who stars as Sally's on-screen husband Tim Metcalfe, attended alongside his wife Sally Carmen, whom he wed in July 2022.
