The cause of death for Chad Lowe's daughter Fiona, who died at age 13, has been confirmed as suicide by the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner.
Fiona, the niece of Hollywood actor Rob Lowe, was pronounced dead at a hospital in Los Angeles at 1:14am on September 29. Her body has now been released to her family. She died just weeks before her 14th birthday, which she would have celebrated in November.
Family statement and tribute
Earlier this week, the Lowe family confirmed Fiona's death in a statement, saying they were 'deeply heartbroken' and describing her as 'the light of our lives.'
They added: 'She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. Her passing is devastating for our entire family, and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.'
The statement also included details for the US 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for those struggling with their mental health.
