Cardiff boss's wife celebrates with Grealish in late draw

Sarah-Jane Crawford, wife of Cardiff City manager Brian Barry-Murphy, was at the heart of the club's dramatic late draw with Wrexham, celebrating Rubin Colwill's stoppage-time equaliser alongside Manchester City star Jack Grealish.

The TV presenter and radio host watched from the director's box at Cardiff City Stadium as the Bluebirds appeared to be heading for defeat on their return to the Championship. Former Cardiff striker Kieffer Moore gave Wrexham a dream start, scoring after just three minutes in front of a packed crowd.

Despite Cardiff's increasingly desperate efforts to find a way back into the game, Wrexham looked set to hold on for a famous victory. But with the clock showing 96 minutes, Joel Colwill was brought down just outside the penalty area.

Stoppage-time magic

Two minutes later, Rubin Colwill stepped up and produced a moment of magic, curling a stunning free-kick into the top corner to send the Cardiff City Stadium into delirium. Crawford captured her own reaction to the remarkable finish, uploading a video to Instagram showing the celebrations in the director's box immediately after the final whistle.

Among those celebrating alongside her was Jack Grealish. Crawford is seen celebrating wildly before wrapping her arm around the England international in delight. She captioned the video: "Straight from the camera roll! That game nearly finished me off."

A familiar face

It was another memorable Cardiff City occasion for Crawford, who has become a familiar face around the club during her husband's first year in charge. The 43-year-old has been a vocal supporter of Barry-Murphy and Cardiff throughout his tenure, most notably when she captured the emotional moment the club secured promotion back to the Championship in April.

On that occasion, Crawford was filmed bursting into tears after learning that Exeter City had scored a dramatic late equaliser against Stockport County to confirm Cardiff's promotion. She described the occasion as "absolute cinema scenes" while praising her husband and the Cardiff players alongside Grealish.

Grealish's presence

The Manchester City winger had been in Cardiff just 24 hours earlier, appearing as a second-half substitute in City's 3-0 Community Shield defeat to Arsenal at the Principality Stadium. He was then spotted in the stands at Cardiff City Stadium for the Championship opener.

Grealish is understood to have been there to support his close friend and former Aston Villa team-mate Callum Robinson, who came off the bench for Cardiff in the second half. The 30-year-old's appearance sparked plenty of excitement among Cardiff supporters, particularly given the uncertainty surrounding his Manchester City future.

One fan even cheekily asked Grealish whether he was joining Cardiff on loan or permanently. The former Aston Villa man simply smiled and replied: "Not sure yet." The tongue-in-cheek exchange prompted plenty of reaction among supporters. After watching Cardiff rescue a point in such spectacular fashion, Grealish was able to experience first-hand the atmosphere generated by Barry-Murphy's side.
