Bonnie Tyler lived in Mumbles, but was born in Skewen, where people are expected to line the streets later today. On Saturday, thousands of people lined the streets to pay their respects. Members of the public lined Newton Road in Mumbles and outside her home in Llwynderw. There were spontaneous breakouts of singing and clapping as the hearse appeared. Inside, Bonnie's coffin was draped in a Welsh flag and there was a framed photo of the Skewen-born singer next to it.
Tributes and Legacy
The singer died at the age of 75 back in July. She was placed into an induced coma at the beginning of May following emergency surgery. Her family said she "unexpectedly passed away" at a hospital in Portugal.
Thousands of fans and celebrities have already paid tribute to Tyler, with First Minister Rhun ap Iorwerth saying "Wales has lost an icon". Fellow Welsh woman Catherine Zeta-Jones said her "heart is broken" after hearing the news.
