Police are appealing for information following a serious crash in Carnwath that left a 10-year-old girl with life-threatening injuries.
Crash details
Around 5.40pm on Sunday, August 16, officers received a report of a crash involving a Volkswagen Golf on the A721 Carnwath Road, east of the junction with Kersewell Avenue.
Emergency services attended and the 44-year-old female driver and 72-year-old female front seat passenger were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
The 10-year-old female rear seat passenger was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to what are described as life threatening injuries.
Road closure and appeal
The road was closed to allow enquiries to be carried out and re-opened around 2.15am on Monday, August 17.
Sergeant Elaine Scott said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to contact us.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash cam or private CCTV which could assist to get in touch.”
