Blossoms celebrated their latest chart-topping album with a meal at The Station House in Cheadle Hulme, the venue recently named Stockport's business of the year. The band's new release, Songs from the Wedding Cake, secured the Number One spot, beating a reissue of The Beatles' 1965 album Rubber Soul.
This achievement means five of Blossoms' six studio albums have now reached Number One. Their latest record joins their self-titled 2016 debut, 2020's Foolish Loving Spaces, 2022's Ribbon Around The Bomb and 2024's Gary in securing the top position.
Celebrations at The Station House
The Station House posted a photo with four members of the band on social media, writing: "It's been a week of celebrating success in Stockport! Following our win @stockportbusinessawards business awards we were thrilled to look after the fantastic @blossomsband last night who were celebrating their album Songs From The Wedding Cake coming in at No1 ! Huge congratulations."
The venue, a transformed 1930s rail-inspired pub, reopened in October 2025 following a £1.3 million renovation by Almond Family Pubs and Joseph Holt brewery.
Chart success and fan surprises
Speaking to the Official Charts, the band said: "We're made up. To still be doing this 10 years on from our first album, and to still be getting to Number 1, isn't something we take for granted. Thank you to everyone who bought it, played it or told a mate about it. See you on tour."
The band also posed with their trophies outside Stockport Town Hall, nicknamed 'The Wedding Cake'. Last week, they announced plans for a pop-up shop at Stockport's Castle Yard, open from Friday to Sunday, where fans could pick up exclusive merchandise and limited-edition copies of the new album.
Fans queuing outside the shop on Friday afternoon were treated to an unexpected surprise when the band made an appearance. Blossoms signed copies of the record for eager supporters and even joined a young fan for a guitar-playing session. Their new single, 'Additional Driver' featuring Declan McKenna, was accompanied by a music video filmed earlier this month aboard the iconic 192, which connects Manchester and Stockport.
