Thousands gathered on Blackpool beach on Sunday afternoon (9 August) for the second day of the annual airshow, following a thrilling opening day on Saturday. The event showcased a range of military and civilian aircraft over the Lancashire seafront, delighting plane enthusiasts and casual observers alike.
Highlights of the Day
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight opened proceedings at 2pm, featuring the iconic Spitfire, Hurricane, and C-47 Dakota. Eleven other acts performed throughout the day, with the RAF Typhoon closing the weekend shortly after 5pm.
On the ground, Blackpool Promenade was filled with vendors, exhibits, and food and drink stalls, offering plenty of entertainment for attendees.
