Bianca del Rio has announced a UK tour to celebrate her 30 years in drag, including a date at Newcastle's O2 City Hall on April 8, 2027. Tickets for the It Gets Bitter tour go on sale this Friday, October 9, at 10am.
The American drag icon, who won the sixth season of RuPaul's Drag Race, will bring her outrageous act to Geordie fans as part of her seventh solo tour. Known for her sharp-tongued comments, those in the front row of her audiences are advised to brace themselves.
Tour details and dates
The comedy queen, dubbed by The New York Times as the 'Joan Rivers of the drag world', will hit the road from the end of March. Her UK and Ireland tour runs from March 31 to April 15, with dates in Brighton, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Sheffield, Southend, Bristol, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dublin, London, and Cardiff.
Bianca, who off-stage is Roy Haylock, also a writer and costume designer, refers to herself as the 'clown in a gown'. She says: "There's a lot going on in the world today and I have a lot to say about it. I'm looking forward to finally getting back on the road and venting to anyone who will listen."
What fans can expect
The star adds: "The old saying is 'it gets better' but I'm proof that after 30 years in drag 'it gets bitter'!" Her insult-comedy style will see no topic off-limits and no ego too big to deflate, covering everything from pop culture and world events to everyday habits and behaviours.
Bianca, who made her West End debut in Everybody's Talking About Jamie, has also starred in feature films including Hurricane Bianca and will next appear in season six of The Traitors US. Before the UK tour, she will tour Latin America in November, with 2027 also seeing her travel across the US, Canada, and mainland Europe.
