Kathleen, an American who recently moved to London, has shared her first-ever visit to a Marks & Spencer store, describing herself as 'shook' by the experience and declaring she is now the store's 'number one fan'.
First Impressions: Not Just a Food Store
Kathleen admitted in a video that she had never heard of M&S until seeing it on TikTok the day before. She decided to visit her nearest store to see what the hype was about, noting that she only knew the cookies were good.
Upon entering, she was taken aback to discover it was not just a food store but also stocked clothing, likening it to a shopping centre. Although initially put off by a pair of jeggings, she later found items that caught her eye, saying the store had 'redeemed itself'.
Food Hall Discoveries: Percy Pig and Chips Confusion
Heading down to the food hall, Kathleen was surprised to find it next to the baby aisle. She was intrigued by the range of Percy Pig sweets, wondering if they were good and feeling she had to try them. She praised the organisation of the shelves, giving 'kudos to whoever works here'.
In the freezer aisle, she was baffled by the naming of chips, unable to distinguish French fries from chips or why waffle fries were called fries. She picked up mini pizzas, crumpets, strawberry jam, and microwave rice, noting the wide range of Percy Pig merchandise.
Final Verdict: 'M&S Number One Fan'
Kathleen expressed her amazement at the store's variety, saying, 'They have so much here, I'm actually shook. Like, I am an M&S number one fan.' She was puzzled by yoghurt packaging without re-sealable lids and by the 'picky bits' aisle, where she chose classic sausage rolls.
She also explored the chilled desserts and dip aisles, and made a beeline for the bakery to pick up cookies. She concluded her visit by heading to the checkout, saying she could not spend anything else as she had to walk home with her purchases.
