Princess Catherine, a key member of the Royal Family since 2011, has become the subject of a persistent four-word question: “What can’t she do?” According to royal author and journalist Catherine Mayer, this query is on everyone’s lips. In her new book, Divide and Rule: Royal Women and Their Battles, Mayer notes that the princess’s extensive royal duties have sparked widespread admiration.
Prince William’s Proud Response
During a 2025 tour of a community project on the Isle of Mull, Princess Catherine used a nail gun to fix tiles to a frame. An onlooker posed the question, and Prince William responded with a theatrical sigh before proudly admitting, “That always happens,” as reported by The Sun. The moment highlights the couple’s dynamic and the princess’s hands-on approach.
Popularity and Public Perception
Polls consistently rank Princess Catherine among the British public’s favourite royals. Vanity Fair reports that “She is more popular than ever,” according to Joseph, a journalist who has covered her since before her 2011 wedding. He adds: “She has gone about her public engagements with a smile on her face and tried to show people that you can live with cancer. She is so resilient and relatable. She has been gracious and very honest.”
Royal Journey and Family Life
Princess Catherine first met Prince William in 2001 at the University of St. Andrews. In their 2010 engagement interview with ITV News, William said he “knew there was something very special” about her from the start. They married at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011. The couple have three children: Prince George (born 2013), Princess Charlotte (2015), and Prince Louis (2018). Princess Catherine turned 44 in January 2026.
