Rhyl Gears Up for Biggest Pride Event Yet with Free Celebrations
Thousands Expected at Rhyl's Biggest Pride Event on June 20

Thousands of people are expected to gather in Rhyl, a seaside town in North Wales just over an hour from Liverpool, as it prepares for its largest Pride celebration yet. The event, set for Saturday, June 20, will span three venues: Ellis Vaults, The Local, and The George, each offering a unique lineup of entertainment.

Event Details and Venues

The main stage at Ellis Vaults will be hosted by The Royal Serenity, while Hannah Poppey will oversee activities at The Local, and Jodie Fletcher will lead proceedings at The George. Venue manager Kyran Jones emphasized the importance of Pride in fostering community and acceptance. "Pride celebrations continue to play an important role in bringing communities together, promoting acceptance, and creating spaces where people can feel safe to be themselves," he said. "We hope the event will not only be a memorable celebration but also help showcase everything Rhyl has to offer."

Performers and Attractions

The packed programme includes performers such as Noisewave, Ella-Grace, Britain's Got Talent finalists Han & Fran, the Royal Serenity Queens, and Sarah Price. Beyond the stages, visitors can enjoy stilt walkers, fire dancers, and live party anthems in the beer garden, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the town.

Family-Friendly Focus

Organizers have highlighted the event's family-friendly nature, with both Ellis Vaults and The Local welcoming children from 12pm to 7pm. Families are encouraged to join the celebrations and enjoy the wide range of entertainment. Entry to the event is completely free, ensuring everyone can participate.

Community Impact

Thousands are expected to attend, bringing color, music, and positivity to Rhyl. Organizers hope the event will also shine a spotlight on local businesses and bring fresh energy to the town centre. Many visitors from Liverpool may recognize Rhyl as a gateway to Towyn, another popular North Wales seaside resort that has been a childhood favorite for generations. While Towyn has evolved over time, it retains its charm with caravan parks, holiday camps, arcades, and attractions.
