Teen Stopped in Manchester Now Models for Dior

Jack Paulsen, a 17-year-old from Guernsey, was visiting friends in Manchester city centre at the end of March when he was approached by a woman outside a Premier Inn. She asked him one direct question: "How tall are you?" Initially thinking it was a scam, Paulsen soon discovered the woman was Carol White, a modelling agent. After being introduced to Success Models, he was flown to France to walk the runway at Dior's Summer 2027 Men's Show during Paris Fashion Week.

From A-Level Revision to the Runway

Paulsen, who was revising for his A-Levels at the time, shared his experience on Good Morning Britain on July 8, 2026. He told hosts Ed Ball and Susanna Reid: "That was the first thing I was asked, 'How tall are you?'" Standing over six feet tall, he met the height requirement that Carol White described as 'perfect' for modelling. White explained: "He's good looking and the right height! In modelling, it's a lot to do with how tall you are, and you can be the wrong height as well."

Nerves and Confidence on the Dior Runway

Reflecting on his debut, Paulsen said: "It was incredibly nerve-wracking waiting in line. But I was at the very start, I was three. They do teach you [the walk]. They do give you tips, and then there were many rehearsals of the actual walk as well. But as soon as I stepped out, I got so much confidence." The experience has helped him decide on a career path. In a previous interview with ITV News, he said: "Before I got scouted I had never considered it. I actually didn't know what I wanted to do as a career at all, now I definitely know which is great."
