Sir Tom Jones left The Voice UK viewers and judges in tears during the latest blind auditions, delivering a powerful rendition of In the Tower of Song that moved everyone in the studio. The 86-year-old music legend took centre stage for the performance, prompting an outpouring of emotion from audience members and his fellow judges.
Sir Tom later shared footage of the performance with his Instagram followers, where the response was equally heartfelt. Among the comments were his former Voice coaches Olly Murs and Anne-Marie. Olly wrote: "I'm crying, love this man," while Anne-Marie simply stated: "I love you."

Fellow coach Kelly Rowland was also full of admiration, writing: "THANK YOU FOR THIS SONG!! For singing it with everything you have! We are so grateful to experience it! Love You."
It wasn't just his celebrity friends who were blown away by the performance, with fans flocking to the comments section to share how much the moving rendition had affected them. One fan wrote: "Saw Tom sing this live a couple of years ago - I was in tears. Such a fabulous, moving song. Have listened to it a lot since then." A career spanning decades
The remarkable response comes more than six decades after Tom first burst onto the music scene. Having begun performing in the 1960s, he went on to achieve international fame in 1965 with the release of his now-iconic hit It's Not Unusual. Since then, the singer has enjoyed an extraordinary career spanning generations, selling millions of records across the decades and becoming one of the most recognisable voices in British music.
However, continuing to perform well into his eighties has not come without its challenges. Sir Tom has faced a number of health setbacks over the years, including ongoing problems with his hips. In 2017, he underwent surgery to have his left hip replaced. Five years later, he revealed that his right hip had also deteriorated, with doctors advising him to undergo another replacement.
Health setbacks and continued performances
More recently, in July 2025, the singer was forced to postpone a concert in Bremen, Germany, after developing an upper respiratory infection which required treatment and rest. Yet despite these health setbacks, Sir Tom has continued to perform and record.
