The Prince of Wales turned 44 on Father's Day, with Kensington Palace releasing a photograph of him with his daughter Princess Charlotte to mark the occasion. The image was taken after the Trooping the Colour ceremony last weekend, showing William in the scarlet dress uniform of the Welsh Guards and Charlotte in a cream dress in the garden of Kensington Palace.
The palace shared the picture on Instagram with the caption: "Happy birthday and Father's Day to the best Papa in the World! We love you very much. C, G, C & L" accompanied by two pink heart emojis.
Royal Family Celebrations
Separately, the royal family Instagram account marked Father's Day with a photograph of King Charles III and his late father, Prince Philip. The image, from 1971, showed the then-Prince Charles with Prince Philip in Lincolnshire after completing his RAF training. The caption read: "Celebrating all Fathers, and thinking of those who wish they could be with their Dads, today."
William's Birthday Week
Earlier in his birthday week, William and his wife Kate attended Royal Ascot together for the first time since 2023. On Wednesday, the couple took part in the traditional carriage ride, watched races from the royal box, and shared a light moment with former England manager Sir Gareth Southgate before a World Cup match against Croatia. This marked Kate's first appearance at the Berkshire event since her cancer diagnosis in early 2024, after which she underwent successful chemotherapy.
The couple also participated in Monday's Garter Day celebrations at Windsor Castle.
A Quieter Birthday Than Last Year
This year's birthday appears more subdued compared to 2024, when William took Prince George and Princess Charlotte to a Taylor Swift concert at Wembley Stadium.
