Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral will host a major new art exhibition this summer as internationally acclaimed artist Dian Kostov brings 'A Mother's Warmth' to the city for the first time.
Exhibition Details
Running from July 3 to September 10, 2026, the exhibition will transform one of Liverpool's most iconic landmarks through a series of immersive installations, contemporary artworks and symbolic visual experiences exploring tenderness, care and the enduring human need for connection. Admission is free, and the exhibition is open daily from 9am to 4pm.
Concept and Themes
Named 'A Mother's Warmth', the installation invites visitors to reflect on the role of compassion, protection and love in shaping both individual lives and communities. Through a combination of contemporary installation art, spirituality and psychological insight, the exhibition creates an immersive and deeply personal experience, encouraging audiences to consider the choices that define who we are and the world we create together.
Artist Dian Kostov said: "In a world often shaped by conflict and uncertainty, it is compassion that reminds us of our shared humanity. A Mother's Warmth is an invitation to reflect on the relationships, values and choices that bring us closer together and help us build a more hopeful future."
Dual-City Project
The exhibition forms part of a unique dual-city project taking place simultaneously across the UK. Alongside A Mother's Warmth at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, a connected exhibition, Crossroad – The Price of Choice: Peace Is Not Given, will be presented at Manchester Cathedral. This parallel presentation underscores the shared themes of compassion and choice across two iconic venues.
