Hannah Spearritt shows off Costa Rica home after quitting London

Hannah Spearritt, 45, is enjoying family life in Costa Rica to the fullest. The S Club 7 singer moved to central America with her partner Adam Thomas and their two daughters, Téa, seven, and Tora, five, last year after having a “tough time” in the UK.

Rustic Family Moments

In a new Instagram post, Hannah shared a short clip of herself and her daughters taking simple pleasures in a more rustic life with “nothing glamorous”. The video showed her playing with her children outdoors, with a fire pit going and a wide, clear view of the landscape behind them, set to the song Wild Spirit by Nabila Moyo.

She wrote in the caption: “Just chilling, nothing glamorous, no red carpets, but these moments for me are what lights up my inner fire.”

Fan Support

Fans and friends celebrated her new way of life in the comments, with one person writing: “Yes! I am loving the naturalness of living this way even though it gets pretty rustic sometimes!” Another said: “Congrats Hannah! We love you. Enjoy this natural environment!”

Spearritt thanked those who left her positive comments and added: “Hope ya’ll [sic] living the life you love too. All you need is love da da da daaaa! Nature and surrounded by beautiful and positive people and gradually building the dream.”

Move to Paradise

When the family made the move in January 2025, Spearritt shared a sweet photograph of her and her daughters putting their thumbs up in their new Costa Rican home. She wrote: “Well... we finally made it to paradise. Beautiful country, beautiful people.”

In her posts since the move, Spearritt has opened up about how moving away from the UK has helped her “recover from a challenging year”. She is also leaning into spiritualism, writing in one post after visiting a local market: “Lovely morning browsing and treating myself to ‘gifts for my future self’ in the Eco Feria Dominical... I was like a kid in a sweet shop! Always wanted some crystals in copper to raise my frequency... Now I have a crown for my chakra... amazing creations.”

Past Challenges

Spearritt’s move to Costa Rica came about a year and a half after the sudden death of S Club bandmate and ex-boyfriend Paul Cattermole in April 2023. Cattermole’s death came just months after the pop group had announced plans to reunite for a tour to mark their 25th anniversary. The tour still went ahead later that year, but minus Spearritt, with the official line being she had decided to no longer be involved. According to her however, she was pushed out and relations with her other bandmembers soured as a result.

Spearritt also suffered a number of personal setbacks in recent years, including experiencing homelessness and the failure of her café venture, Earth & Fire, in Twickenham, South West London, which never fully opened. In December 2023, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that caused her to suffer from chronic fatigue and vertigo. She told Hello! magazine: “I don't think I realised how much I'd deteriorated because it happened so gradually, I had no energy and couldn't even get on a train or cook dinner. That affected my mental health, too, because I've always been a physical and sporty person, it's only when you get better and can do things you love again that you realise how bad things were. It's been a tough and challenging year, and things happened that were quite traumatic.”
